Come experience the work of 19 trailblazing experience designers from around the world. The third cohort of the Experience Design Certificate Program has spent the past year reimagining death rituals, community action, creative processes, reproductive justice, and responses to climate catastrophe. These unique interactive projects span 1-on-1 performance, collaborative cooking games, portraiture experiences, and interactive installation. Each piece is an invitation to cross the threshold into a new way of experiencing the world.

Led by Odyssey Works, the internationally-acclaimed group which has expanded the notion of experience design and famously made performances for an audience of one for more than two decades, the artists and designers of The New Frame will invite you to rethink the possibilities of design.

You will be able to sign up for more experiences upon arrival.

All guests are welcome to attend a talk on retreat design from 2:00 - 2:30pm and a cocktail reception from 5-6 pm.

“All my Relations” is a Nordic-style Live Action Role Playing game (LARP) where players embody the living relations of a recently dead matriarch. Inspired by black American mourning and funerary traditions, players gather at a repast/repass—the reunion meal typically held directly after a funeral—to co-create the complex relationships (both individual and collective) we often encounter around loss and death. Celebrating the richness of grief in all its forms—from laughter and jubilation, to sorrow and fear—“All my Relations” invites players to embrace the messiness of grief through play, and to recognize joy and loss as reflections rather than opposites.
