The New Frame has ended
Come experience the work of 19 trailblazing experience designers from around the world. The third cohort of the Experience Design Certificate Program has spent the past year reimagining death rituals, community action, creative processes, reproductive justice, and responses to climate catastrophe. These unique interactive projects span 1-on-1 performance, collaborative cooking games, portraiture experiences, and interactive installation. Each piece is an invitation to cross the threshold into a new way of experiencing the world.

Led by Odyssey Works, the internationally-acclaimed group which has expanded the notion of experience design and famously made performances for an audience of one for more than two decades, the artists and designers of The New Frame will invite you to rethink the possibilities of design.

Touch is how humans stay oriented. Thermal information is directly tied to stronger memory. In addition to the senses of pressure and temperature, our skin allows us to experience the radiance, current, and magnetism of each other.

I’ve made these metal chairs that are heated with wires (like a heated blanket) and they will be placed in the cold weather. People are invited to see the building Doorman who will escort them to the courtyard. My hope is that the warmth in the cold will give a heightened sense.

Thermal environments make visible how the world touches us.
